All India And South asia rugby tournament 1997
The Lahore rugby football club made a historic tour of Bombay India to take part in the All India And South Asia rugby tournament

The tournament was held   at the lush green grounds of the Bombay Gymkhana during the monsoon season. 

Played three matches. Lost first one 17-15 against Calcutta. Won second match 10-0 against … Last match, lost to Maharrastra Police in the semi final, 37-0

the team was honered to be Awarded the tournament "fair play award"  for showing great sportsmen spirit on and off the field. Outstanding individual performance during the tournament was exhibited by Zubair Shafi and Haroon Iftikhar.

The touring squad consisted of: Fawzi Khawaja, Arif Saeed, Jahenzeb Quyyum, Adnan Quyyum, Shehzad Zaffar, Azam Noon, Fouzan Wain, Anwar ul Haqq, Haroon Iftikhar, Zubair Shafi, Doc Idrees Haider, Summer Hayyat, and Sabir Senior. The squad was joined upon invitation by three Islamabad players: Salman (Sid), Zaheer (Lumba), and Baba

The main sponsors for the tour were Servis, Saga, Packages, Nishat, Leggler Nafees, and Syed Engineers.
